Hi,

we created a free starter-kit "epubGeneric" for an EPUB3-book using under MIT-license. The package can be used as a generic starting point (template) for any new book. It can easily be cusatomized.

The package includes all files you need to create a book from scratch. It shows you how to embed audio- and video-files. There are sample-pages that show you how to implement images the proper way including captions.

Create your custom css-files using SASS. You get a SASS-structure you can easily change to your needs.

The template passed W3C-, ARIA- and epubCheck-validation. The test-results are part of the package (documentation). Accessibility (DAISY) is a major aspect of the package.

You get templates for the cover and video-posters in SVG-format.

The package includes the final eBook created by this package. The eBook was created using SIGIL (Linux-version) and VSCode as an external editor.

We have tested the final eBook with some readers. We suggest to use the Thorium reader.

You can import the final eBook into Calibre, of course. But Calibre was not our editor.

This GIThub-package was set to archive-format. It is a gift to (new) eBook-authors, we do not support it in any way. So please do not ask for support or help.
