I've used Ali Express a number of times with no problem at all.

Remember, every site we've used, we once never used,

Ali Express is legit. I nearly got a Forma from there, but got a Sage in the end. I was concerned that the old Forma battery would be no good and I'd have to replace it immediately.

Check seller ratings and reviews (100% or close to, and lots of reviews and orders), and pay with a credit card or paypal, then you'll be covered.

edit: I'm looking at them now, and want one. Down boy!

I'm not really worried that it isn't legit, I know many people use it. It's just a lot of money for my first buy. I tried signing up and, after the many pop up ad promotions, I struggled to make an account. I'm sure it was a me problem, but I'm just not comfortable with it.

I'm glad you like it. I use it all the time as well. Even on the Forma, although that one doesn't really need the improvement. But on the Forma I use governor "conservative" because on "powersave" I once saw it hanging after exiting out of koreader. (For context, we're talking about this post).

Yes, the spam is horrible. My inbox is bombarded with their spam. But those Formas do look nice

It's not spam. I got email from Ali Express for a while. Now I don't. It has stopped. I didn't find it a problem.

Spam would be if Ali Express emailed you when you didn't sign up.

I bought a Lenovo laptop. I signed in to register it. Now I got email from Lenovo. Would you consider that spam? All I did was unsubscribe and the email has stopped.

I think Ali Express may have stopped spamming me. Not sure. I may have set up a rule to put it in the spam box.

Signed up or not, getting multiple emails a day for weeks is spam IMO. Tomato, tomatoe.

Be careful with Ali Express

I've had mixed success with Ali Express. I ordered a Sage from them and they ended up sending me a color Libra instead, worth about half of what I paid. On the box, someone had put a sticker saying "Sage." I wrote Ali Express saying the I got the wrong product, and they demanded I take a movie of the purchase that included the original outer packing material including the address etc. that I had discarded. I sent them a movie of the Libra and the box marked "Sage" that it came in, but they refused my request for replacement and so I am out $200 (the difference between a Sage and Libra -- which I don't need). On a previous occasion, I ordered a Forma and received the correct item in good shape. So I would say if you order from them be careful, since if they make a mistake you may be out of luck.

Generally, I consider using the unsubscribe option in spam to be confirming the email is actually being seen by a human making the address worth more.

Yes, well produced spam always has an unsubscribe. Don't use it but mark the sender as bad.

If it looks like a legit email but it's from someway I didn't sign up for, I'll mark it as spam.
