@vasbinde Are you currently only tracking Amazon and libby? I'm not familiar with get books.

I think it's a cool idea to have an author tracking. I'd have probably done this as a standalone tool, but cool anyway.

Does it only work in the US?

The author tracking plugin might be pretty useful, yes. I think I would give it a try. I don't mind it being US-only, if that's the case.

I am interested. I currently manually follow authors at booknotification.com, but it doesn't notify me of existing books that I don't have.

And I apologize for the AI jab - trying to figure out if you are talking to bots is kind of exhausting.

It should work with any author regardless if the author is US, UK, Germany, etc. If the author is Amazon Exclusive, you just paste in the URL for their Amazon author page, or the plugin can sometimes auto-detect it.

Get Books is the built-in capability for searching for new books in Calibre. For non-Amazon Exclusive authors, the search is broader and leverages that function, combined with the Apple Books API to pull in data about book language and release date so that we can pull in new books or ones released in the last 60 days to our list, along with ones that are missing.
