How to get dictionary conjugations to work?

I have the Kindle Cordial fr-fr dictionary and that works good, if i search "mange" it finds the verb "manger".

I downloaded a new Dictionary:
- Le nouveau petit robert

It came in file .dsl.dz so i used pyGlossary to convert it to stardict format, so i have 3 files, a .dict, .idx and .ifo.

The dictionary worked fine, but it seems it needs an exact match. E.g. mange finds nothing. If i search "étroits" it finds nothing, but if i search "étroit" it finds the word.

Weird thing is if i add it to goldDict it works as normal, i.e. it can deal with the conjugations and the plurals fine.

I also tried another dictionary, Larousse which came with a .syn.dz file but it has the same problem. The .syn file is small though - only 2mb.

I can see in the Cordial dictionary the .syn file is large at 16mb relative to the .dict file at 60mb.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Happy to share the files somewhere. Is there a converter?

You can inject inflections into your existing dictionaries via this script: https://github.com/anezih/add_inflections

KOReader doesn’t support .syn.dz files, you need to uncompress that file.
