Intensely hot (102 F) - the Canadian smoke is arriving in force on Sunday with a storm front from the north - felt so sorry for the roof guy - I had scheduled an inspection before this heat wave hit - but he survived a noon visit

It has finally cooled down, and not just for a couple of days. Over the weekend it was 20℃ to 22℃, sunny but windy. Yesterday after we had my sister's birthday lunch with our parents we went out for a short walk, which was nice.

The rest of the week similar temperatures are expected, a little bit warmer over the weekend. On Wednesday and over the weekend rain is also expected.

It's still warm at work, so it's really nice leaving work and getting out into cooler air.

Our cooler weather is ending for now. Monday to Thursday are supposed to be in the low 30s as the high. On the good news, the overnight lows are going to be comfortable sleeping range.

It is rather a misery down here. It was 82 degrees at 6:30 this morning. We've had a lot of wind all day and are expecting some heavy storms tonight and tomorrow.

Sunny and 31°C (~88°F), the humidity is around 43%. Tomorrow the temperatures will drop and stay in the mid-20s for highs for the next week. Add in a rainy weekend to help with the forest fires (he writes hopefully...).

Yesterday we finally had some proper rain throughout the day. It's been dry for a long time, last Tuesday we had some drizzle throughout the day, but that didn't add up to much. But yesterday there were rain showers throughout the day.

This morning there will also be some rain, though not much. And like yesterday it'll be around 22℃. This afternoon the sun should come out. From tomorrow we'll be heading towards the next (unofficial/regional) heat wave. It'll peak on Wednesday at 33℃, after that it will very slowly cool off again.

It's been hot these last couple of days, and today it'll still get to 28℃ later today. I already went to the supermarket this morning, just after 9 am, and it's already unpleasantly warm and humid.

During the previous near-heatwave it was at least windy even during the night. The night were relatively cool, which was nice. Not so this time, there's barely any wind. But temperatures should peak mid-afternoon today, then the wind shifts and should bring in (slightly) cooler air.

Tomorrow and over the weekend it should be around 25℃, then two hotter days of 27℃ to 29℃, before it drops down to 22℃ to 25℃ the rest of next week.

It's still hot. Yesterday temperature locally went up to almost 35℃ and today will be similar, though more humid.

When I went to bed last night the prediction was of a dry night. But I woke up just after midnight because of distant thunder and wind gusts. I checked the rain radar and it predicted that within the next hour a thunderstorm would arrive. So I closed all the windows on my floor. I can vaguely remember some rain, not enough to call it a shower, but no thunderstorm.

I again woke up a couple of hours later, the radar predicted drizzle starting soon, but since the thunderstorm fizzled out I took a chance and opened up the windows again to let some (slightly) cooler air in. It didn't rain, so I'm glad I took the chance.

This afternoon and tonight there's a chance of some rain or even a thunderstorm, so I closed everything up again. Tonight will be another muggy 20℃+ night, so I'm not looking forward to that.

Thursday it was hot and humid here with high of 91° F. First time we reached 90 in what seems like a few weeks. It was 86 at about 11pm. 81 now at 3:15 AM. It is going to continue to be too hot for at least a few days. High 89 on Friday (humid, maybe T-storm).

Hit 29° today with the humidity at 46%. A bit of smoke from the wild fires is still triggering air quality alerts and at times, you can smell the smoke when you are outdoors.

We're continuing the yo-yo weather. After two warmer days (27-31℃) we're not getting two cooler days, 23-24℃. Then we're going back to a possible heatwave. On Wednesday and Saturday it'll be around 27℃ and on Thursday and Friday it be 33-36℃. It remains to be seen if it'll be an official national heatwave; on Sunday it's predicted to be 24℃ (so no heatwave), but if it goes up to 25℃ or higher in De Bilt it'll be another official heatwave.

For next week they now predict fairly average temperatures of 22-25℃, with some rain (but not enough to make stop the drought). But all summer they predict nice temperatures for next week on Sunday to Wednesday before it changes into another hot weather spell, so I'm not counting on anything.

I'm getting thoroughly fed up with the hot weather spells. I would love to have average temperatures for this time of year the rest of the summer with the occasional rainy day.
