Hey! Im having the same problem. I downloaded the file KoboRoot off of the pgaskin site. Theres no file in there with a .tgz file. Theres 2 when i unzipped KoboRoot: "mnt" and "user"

I did try to just move the koboroot file into my .kobo folder and nothing happened.

Hopefully someone could help :') (im using a kobo libra color)

You know the issues some people are having with downloading the NickelMenu KoboRoot.tgz file are a bit strange.

I went to Patrick Gaskin's Github site. Looked at the right hand side of the page for Releases, saw NickelMenu v0.6.0 and clicked on it.

On the page that opened, I saw NickelMenu v0.6.0 and under the Assets heading, there was link to a file called KoboRoot.tgz. Clicked on that link and KoboRoot.tgz downloaded.

Not exactly rocket science though some people may have their computers set up to download ePub, tgz and other compressed files as .zip files. Mostly a problem for those who are using newer version of MacOS but seems to affect Windows and Linux users as well. Then we have the Windows users who have their computers set to not show file extensions for known file formats.

Most of the problems seem to be PEBKAC issues.

As I mentioned in my previous message, it sounds as if you have your computer setup to download files with modified extensions. The mnt and user directories are what you would expect to see in KoboRoot.tgz. What extension did the file have after you downloaded it?

I finally got it to work..I didnt need to extract anything..i moved the zipped file into the .kobo folder and followed the rest of the instructions and now im good to go lol :')

thank you for the quick reply i appreciate it! Now im trying to figure out a way to hide the "my notebooks and discover" tabs on the homescreen

The Icons used for the normal tabs are "Fixed" and cannot be changed at this time.
