You're going to need to provide some more info. I can't reproduce your problem. I've tried several plugins that utilize writefile(ident, html) and the order of files in Book Browser does not change, and nothing in the opf file changes. I've tried using Sigil 2.8.0 and 2.8.1.

Which plugins are you using that are doing this? Perhaps the plugins in questions are not written correctly?

I tried my Access Aide plugin and made a bunch of changes to an old epub to add in missing alt tags and it saved and worked with no problems.

It uses that same bk.writefile() interface.

So I can not recreate this either. And I tried with Sigil 2.8.0 and Sigil 2.8.1 and even my own repo build and not one problem.

I would think the vast majority of edit plugins out there are going to be using bk.writefile().

It sounds to me like something in the plugin the OP is using is making unwise edits to the opf file itself.

I asked since nobody is able to recreate the problem. It could be a problem with a specific plugin.
