Got real outbound SSH working on my jailbroken Kindle over Tailscale - full guide
No OpenSSH needed, just Tailscale + a terminal app. Couldn't find anyone who'd done this before, so wrote it up: https://github.com/Mounstroya/kindle-ssh-guide

Main advantages: it's a single lightweight binary instead of a full
Debian chroot, and it avoids the abandoned "Extend" package entirely —
no dependency on unmaintained tooling. Confirmed working on 5.17.1,
kernel 4.9.77.
