I was checking some titles and prices because of the sale going on in the U.S. location and noticed that Endling, by Maria Reva, was priced at $20.49

I just bought that title a few days ago at Kobo.UK (the choice location of my traveling), for £0.99

FRIGHTENING!

Kobo has revived the buy $50, get a $10 bonus card, offer for the US July 4th. The offer expires July 6. However, kind of unusually, the offer doesn't show up at Kobo UK. Kobo usually has the gift card offer across multiple country stores, even if it's linked to a US holiday. I haven't checked the Kobo stores in Canada or any European countries. (Canada might have for Canada Day ???)

Also somewhat unusually, there isn't (or I can't find) a link to the T&Cs for the offer, but I am going to assume they are similar to previous iterations of the bonus card offer. It does say it's one per customer.

FWIW, I'm surprised to see the buy $50/get $10 offer pop up again for the 4th. In the past, my memory tells me that the buy $50/get $10 has been only at year-end and Mother's Day. And the "ratio" is more often $60/$10 or even $70/$10 (as it was a couple of weeks ago, in mid-June). Although, of course, my memory could be wrong - I haven't been paying precise attention to when the better ratio comes around.

Info is on the normal Kobo US gift card page: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/EGiftingCustomization

Thanks a lot, I was just in time to take advantage of the offer, my Kobo credit was low and I was waiting for this offer.

Glad to help ^^^^

I too was able to use it, with credit getting low. Of course, when credit gets low, I'll take the B60G10 or the B70G10 if I have to, but was nice to see a B50G10 offer again so soon after (US) Mother's Day.

It appears to have already gone up. I logged out of my account and then added it to my cart and it was $20.

Definitely will not be renewing at that price when it expires mid August.

Yeah I haven't minded paying $5 through the years (always renew with a 50% off code), but $20 (or even $10) is too much for the benefits.

I would consider it if they let you choose any free book, but the selection of free books you get to choose from is thin and rarely changes.

I've been a VIP since 2019 iirc and have never once been offered a discount on VIP renewal.

BUT, adding up my purchases since my last renewal, I would have saved more than $20 even without including the books I 'bought' using Points. so I probably will renew in December, and then see how my 2027 purchases stack up before deciding whether to renew again for 2028

Pretty much the same here. I've saved more than $20 per year over the years I've been a VIP member. I've only used one offer to renew at a lower price. It seems that about a month after my renewal date is when a special offer arrives.
