Too many books, as always. But I can at least feel somewhat vindicated that several of my purchases this month were items on my watchlist that went on sale, rather than all impulse buys.

(Try singing "Too many books" to the tune of Too Many Cooks!)

I just checked and in the last month I have bought and acquired legally over 100 ebooks. And that is not counting prepaid ebooks to be released over the next 3 months.

That is almost 2/3 of a years reading.

I have also bought 100 books in a month. But not for a decade or two....

I suggest a re-read of the first post in this thread is in order.

Hmmm.... for me, 100 books is around a month's reading. Currently for June, I've added 107 books while in May, I added 105 books. If I am reading them and not just adding to the height of Mount TBR, do I truly qualify as ebook buying addict? Or just an ebook addict?

I think that you're just an ebook addict. If your TBR isn't constantly growing, or more than (say) a year's reading, you're probably OK.

Digital hoarding is so much easier than physical hoarding. If I go into a used bookstore, there's 20 books at any given moment that I could buy, but then there's a mental safeguard that says, "Am I really gonna read these? And if I don't, they're just gonna take up space. I'd have to build another bookshelf."

Whereas with the digital purchases, it's like, "Well I might wanna read it one day, so I should buy it now while it's cheap. And the amount of space it occupies on my hard disk is trivial..."

Considering my current TBR has 6 books in it, I generally don't think about reading a purchase some future day and more of reading it NOW!

A TBR of six and you read 100 books a month? You need to buy more books! You should have a TBR of at least 300....

Still acquiring ebooks a little faster than I read them, but doing AWESOME on not getting any audiobooks. Audiobook TBR is down 26 so far this year! Woohoo!! Even better, I didn't buy another ereader at the recent Prime sale. I don't need any ereaders, so why do they call me?

Sadly, my Audiobook TBR is growing, not shrinking. OTOH, I didn't spend a single dime at Amazon's Prime Days, so that's a plus.

Question Freebie Addicts

Hello,
To the ebook buying addicts out there, three questions?
1.Of the hundreds and thousands of books on your devices what percentage were free?
2. How many of the freebies you have downloaded have you actually read, and
3. Have you formally reviewed any of the feebies you have read - what percentage of the freebies have you reviewed?
Thanks

At one time, the majority of my ebooks were from Baen's Free Library and the CDs bound into some Baen hardcovers. Since then I've gotten a lot fussier and a quick check shows less than 10% of the books I have were free.

Basically, if I've downloaded a book, I've read it. A high reading speed has advantages.

I've reviewed some of the freebies on various bookstores but a lot of the ones I get now are short novellas set in an author's universe and so no store availability (prequel, extended epilogue, whatever).

1. None. I'm a sucker for special offers on authors that I like or think that I'll probably like (especially the £0.99 ones), but I don't recall ever seeing a freebie that I wanted. I don't actually recall having seen many. I look at the Kobo deals, but not the free books.
2. & 3. N/A
