A puddle on a desk.

Thinking of which you should be careful that no one takes uncompromising pictures of this last activity. It would ruin your case about you know who's incompetance.

I'm just beginning to slowly digest lunch: a 15 item vegetarian sampler platter from Fadi's - a Lebanese restaurant nearby. Of course, I was going to just eat half of it and take the other half home for dinner. But those neurons in the prefrontal cortex that are supposed to fire now and then to remind us of the importance of moderation and restraint just don't seem to work when there's an enormous plate in front of me filled with warm pita, hummos, baba ghanooge, tabuli salad, cucumber salad, potato salad, pecan couscous, tomatoes with fresh mozarella, greek salad, mixed vegetables, cilantro zucchini, pomegranate eggplant, rice, Parmesan spinach, coriander potatoes, Italian green beans, and my favourite fried cauliflower (and I probably missed a couple). I wanted a pistachio dessert but couldn't breathe to get up and ask for one. Is it time for my nap, yet?

I'll take that as a "Yes, Word is the spawn of the PNS."

I remember have a seriously nice meal at a Lebanese restaurant, but I can't for the life of me remember where the restaurant was (or even which country....).

Me? About to go and collect a curry from a *really* nice local curry house...

Actually, while that sounds yummy, no. The fried cauliflower was done in a way which I understand to be traditional: completely naked (that would be the cauliflower, not necessarily the cook - ahem!). There's no batter or sauce or anything. They are cooked all the way through so perhaps they are briefly steamed before hand. But my guess is not. I think they just throw some florets in a pan with some seasoned oil and there you go: Bob's your uncle! Yummo! I'm told by a Lebanese friend that fred cauliflower is the "french fries" of that region in that it's a common snack (with the pita-like bread, of course).

that looks very much like what I am describing. I do steam it first, just frying it does not work. I put some curry on it while it is steaming, and I have always had it served with a curry, garlic yogurt sauce. SO yummy!
