Landing here in 2026 via Google because this exact same error just happened to my brother's card. It’s insane that Google still hasn't fixed this "additional information" loop after all this time.
Honestly, once you get that error, dealing with their chat support is just a waste of days. I completely stopped buying physical play store cards from supermarkets because of this exact risk. Nowadays, if I ever need to deal with gift cards or swap balances without the regional lock stress, I just use NOSH.
