Or lack thereof...
I'm used to tapping the corner on my other readers and a little bookmark icon appearing. Not so with my G11 matcha. You just tap the top of the screen and it takes you to a set of page thumbnails. Now when I was looking through a book it did appear once as an actual bookmark but I've not been able to make it appear since. And things don't come with manuals any more...
The page thumbnail thing sort of works but its easy to hit something and lose where you're at!
Bring back bookmarks!

This is exactly what happened to me yesterday on my Kindle Matcha.

It may need to apply some kind of update throughout your Library of titles ON the Matcha. I don't know, but after I got tired of waiting and it still didn't work I did this:

After holding the on/off button for 40 seconds and once the Kindle reloaded, everything was fine.

I did forget one thing (if it was not apparent from my earlier post): Leave the WiFi on so the bookmarks can be updated and/or the holding of the ON/OFF button for 40 seconds does the trick as it reloads .

The wifi is always on. No matter what I do there are no bookmarks.
A sad omission for a book reader!

What you are experiencing is sad, yes. And what you are experiencing is an omission. But something is not correctly working on your Kindle. You should check to see if you have the most current version of the released software.

You should also contact Support and tell them the issue you are having and see what they suggest.

Yes, I know. That's what's supposed to happen, (I think) but it doesn't.

Seems to be sorted now. I finished a Sample I was reading, began a book on Microbes and lo and behold, we have bookmarks!
