im using a win11 vm on an unsupported win11 install (no tpm, outdated cpu) and it works fine that way

Given that I'm only using the Kindle app for downloads and DRM removal, it's working OK.

I didn't really need both back then since only Kindle for PC worked for decrypting at that time. Now I just have an old version of K4PC which already stopped working. But I haven't bought any books from Amazon since last year so it doesn't matter. I only keep tabs on the current state of DRM removal out of curiousity and just in case.

I installed 2.9.1 and got it working to remove the DRM. But I read about the Windows Store version and decided to give that a go. Eventually I'll uninstall 2.9.1.

Yes. I used VMWare Workstation Pro as my VM platform.

Computer Chicken here.... I have the .bat file. When I click on it basically, what does it do? Does it open an explorer window where the downloaded Kindle books are so you don't have to wade through all the multiple levels to get to where your books are?

Thank you.

You run the .bat from from inside a command line.

Is there any way to get this to open a new tab instead of a new window in Explorer?

I just created a short cut to this directory on my desktop. No need to run a bat file. Super easy. Open file explorer and navigate to the content folder. Shrink your window down so part of the desktop shows. Then just grab on the word Content up where it shows your path and drag and drop to your desktop. You could also pin it the quick access tool bar (that part to the left on the file explorer screen).

It's actually easier to create a shortcut to the Kindle content directory in Explorer. Then you can be sure to open another tab instead of another instance of Explorer.

Cool! That's a trick I didn't know! I did it the old fashioned way: navigate, right-click, More Options (really?), Send to Desktop.

If you want to convert it to PowerShell, yes.

And try to remember that I am a bit of a command line fan.
