Cannot open ebooks anymore in default reader

I have a PocketBook Inkpad 4. Since a few days, I cannot open any ebook anymore (epub or pdf) using the default reader.

I used to be able to open my files without any problem. So it's not a problem with certain damaged files.

I don't think it's a memory problem. In the settings, I see:
Memory: 28983 MB Total, 21543 MB free.

Work-around: I can open my ebooks using KoReader. But I don't like KoReader and very much prefer using the default PocketBook reader.

Any suggestions?

I have done a factory reset.
And the problem of opening my files is solved.

I don't know what caused it in the first place.

The only few files that I still could not open were in fact linked files (from my Mac, synced locally using ChronoExpress), that appeared as normal files on my reader, but the reader could not open them.
