I think people start these threads just to incite in-fighting among the Sony owners.

The owners of Silver and Red Readers have no valid argument for suggesting a purchase of those colors. Any attempt to convey their opinion will be trumped by the staggering intelligence of the Blue Sony owners. Also, the Blue Sony makes you more attractive to the opposite sex (need I say more).

Not really sure why there's a big debate here. Anybody who owns a Sony Reader in any other colour than silver is just a big show-off and that's all there is to it - so there!

well i didn't start this thread to cause trouble I just read some where that the dark colored frame made it easier to read. Since I live in an area where absolutely no one has an e reader (in fact no one seems to have heard of them) I have to buy mine on line and I wanted to be as informed as possible before I bought it . The fact that you can buy skins for it (I now know thanks to some helpful people here) makes the origional question irrelevant because with skins you can change it as often as you want. Thank you to everyone that answered. I will buy the silver one because for some reason it is 10$ cheaper and and then get a few different skins for it.

No worries. Just some good fun amongst us Sony owners.

Some places sell the Silver cheaper probably because they are more readily available and those places that carry two or three colors usually have more of the silver.

Any of the three colors are acceptable and once you begin reading you won't even notice anything but the screen itself.
