libra 2 doesn't sync Libby

greetings

My libra 2 reader suddenly stopped syncing with Libby library, I setup overdrive on my libby to read library books i borrowed in libby, however newly borrowed books don't appear on libra 2 anymore.

I'm on software version 4.38.23697 (5/25/26). and I've tried reboot the libra 2 and logged out my account and sign in to no avail.

any advice?

Did you check your Settings under More => Settings => Overdrive to ensure your library is configured there?

Clicking the search icon, do you see OverDrive in the drop down menu at the end of the search bar?

If you do see OverDrive there, try selecting it and then typing an author name in the search box and see if you get any results.

Otherwise, it could be an issue with your Libby setup. Mine has glitched more than once.

Also remember that the ebook in the library and in Kobo's store have to be the same version (same ISBN) for this to work. On more than one occasion, I've run into books where the Kobo version was not the same as the library version. This required me to download the book using ADE or calibre's ACSM plugin and then sideloading it to my Kobo.

You're correct, my overdrive account isn't sign in after I resigned in Kobo account.

I signed in with my library account and new books appear on the libra2.

but here's the catch - I've linked my multiple public libraries' accounts with kobo libra 2, it seems that now I can link to one library, the books I checked out from other libraries don't show up. one thing i'm certain is that as of last May, I could still read books borrowed from multiple libraries, it seems that the latest firmware update (4.38.23697 (5/25/26) put restriction on the capability.

You were most likely using an OverDrive account (email/password) and linked multiple libraries to the OverDrive account via the Kobo built-in OverDrive functionality.

In July 2025, OverDrive (the company) removed the ability to log into your Kobo using an OverDrive account. If you did use an OverDrive account, you can see if the following workaround helps.

But if you're not very tech-savvy it may not be a viable option for you.
