[Project Announcement] Custom OS for Kindle 4NT Looking For contribuitors!

Hi everyone!

I am currently developing a custom OS framework tailored for the Kindle 4 No-Touch (K4NT). My goal is to breathe new life into this classic device and give users total freedom over their e-readers.

What is currently included and working on my device:

Dual-Boot / permanent boot option: Easily switch between the stock Amazon software and this custom OS.

Custom Recovery: A built-in recovery system to guarantee peace of mind and prevent bricks during installation.

Jailbreak Tools Integration: Built-in utilities to manage your device directly.

App Store & Book Store concepts: A standalone interface to manage apps and books.

Sound Engine: Audio feedback and sound support directly through the interface.

Current Hardware Compatibility:

Fully Tested: Kindle 4 No-Touch (K4NT). The interface is currently fully mapped to utilize the physical side and D-pad buttons.

Not Tested: K5, K6, Paperwhite, Oasis, and other touch-based models.

Looking for Contributors! 🤝
Since I am focusing my development on the hardware limitations and button layout of the K4NT, I need help from other devs in the community to scale this project.

If you are a developer and want to contribute, I am looking for people to help with:

Touch Engines: Mapping touch inputs (/dev/input/event*) so this can run on newer Paperwhite/Oasis models.

Sound & Media Players: Enhancing audio capabilities and lightweight media playback.

General Testing: Trying it out on other legacy Kindle models once the initial files are ready.

Once I finish my final round of local testing on my K4NT and clean up the repository, I will share the source code and installation links here!

so, we noticed on devices now it has like k4nt, a security for not letting you put custom firmware so, we are currently focusing on fixing that. so the link im gonna give when it will work the fix.
