Today I installed the beta. I will keep using it, but also found some issues. One thing that I could reproduce is as follows:

1) On my phone (Chrome), I go to a Library, set the cover size, say 2 columns.

2) With the sidebar expanded (full size), moving back and forth between the Downloaded Books and Virtual Library will cause the cover size reduced to fit with the remaining room of the screen.

3) Collapse the sidebar (small size), the cover size is not automatically restored to the intended size set in 1)

If possible, I would like to have an option to hide the sidebar in the margin, called by a swipe, or rearranged to the bottom (maybe this is more complicated)

I think the cover size slider is something I would use once or twice. It should not sit permanently in front.

In the bookdetail page, below the cover, series, publisher .. are not clickable. The clickable ones are in the old style book details section below. I think this is an unnecessary doublication.

I edit the metadata, Comments section, thế toolbar is messed up as all buttons are arranged vertically rather than horizontally.

@nqk: I cannot replicate your cover size changing issue in phone mode in chrome developer tools (am travelling and cant test on a real device). Setting cover size to three columns and switching between downloaded books and switching between downloaded books and a VL with sidebar expanded stays at 3 columns as expected.

There is indeed an issue where the cover size is not recalculated when the sidebar is expanded/collapsed I will look into that when I have moment.

Yes book details page top is a card view for a quick overview, individual things are not clickable, you have to use the table below the card for that.

I'm afraid the sidebar is not going to get a swipe to access or bottom mode, too much code complication.

The edit comments toolbars were indeed broken, now fixed.

Sidebar: Yes, I understand that the bottom mode may be too much. How about a handler to call it? It looks really congested on a phone.

Book details top card: Please add an option in the setting to hide it. Same reason as above. Too congested on a small portrait screen.

And these settings should also be stored together with the settings in the reader (which is a great feature)

And while you are working on a new big version, and since Calibre now can work offline, please improve the PWA: I "installed" it as PWA on Android (and PC) with Chrome. The icon looks shrunken. Maybe the icon size is not compatible yet. And how about Firefox?

@nqk: The sidebar can be minimised to a single column I am not interested in making it completely hidden which is what I think you are asking for. As for settings, they are accessed via the settings button at the bottom of the sidebar.

I have it installed as a PWA on Android via chrome for many years, the icon looks fine. And whats the issue with Firefox?

The error when changing the cover will be fixed, thanks for finding it.

The Calibre icon is small, large white background. I've seen PWA icons that fill the icon placeholder on Android (stock launcher).

Regarding Firefox, ít can only be added to Home Screen as browser shortcut, not PWA. I think if it is compatible with Firefox, I will see "Add app to home screen".

Instagram is an example for both icon size and PWA that works with Firefox. Or maybe Calibre icon is flat at the bottom so it gives the such "small" visual.

PS: Since Calibre is truly working offline as a reader, I no longer have to run via Fully Kiosk Browser. Great.

Very quick, sir.

The toolbar in comment editting window looks ok. PWA for Firefox works (icon bigger than Chrome).

But I still can't replace existing cover. it now doesn't say anything about error. But when I click "Save", the existing cover is still there.

step to reproduce

1) Choose a new image as cover
2) Click save ==> The second save button is not available
3) Edit something, anything, in the metadata to activate the Save button
4) Hit the save button ==> error

Here's an issue I noted with the .104 beta: mismatch on series names when first word in the series is the same.

For example, the series "Awakening" was grouped with the series "Awakening Lands". UI reported 1 member of the Awakening series, but 3 books are displayed.
The series "Awakening Lands" was never displayed by itself (only as part of "Awakening" series).
