It's not berating. It's leaving out the outer countries besides the US that use letter size paper.

It's even more stark when you look at metric vs imperial. There are only three countries in the world that don't use the metric system: Liberia, Myanmar and USA.
Japan is using metric system?

Nit-pick: the US does use metric for almost everything. We just happen to have US units (not Imperial, they're different quantities) on consumer goods. Most everything else is metric under the labels. The notable outliers are gasoline (gallons), road distances and speed limits (miles and miles per hour), and weather reports (temperatures in Fahrenheit). Gas and roads use US measures because federal gasoline tax laws and road funding specify "gallons" and "miles". Weather data is all metric (Celsius) with published reports translating from C to F.

US customary units are not Imperial (UK) units. The names are the same but the quantities sometimes differ: 1 US gallon = ~0.8 Imperial gallon.

True. I glossed over that. Even the fluid ounce is (very slightly) different, although the big difference is the number of fluid ounces in a pint.

Japan is officially metric. Has been since the Meiji Restoration.

For paper sizes, Japan uses 2 standards. The JIS A sizes are identical to the ISO A sizes but with slightly different tolerances, the JIS B series are 150% larger than the JIS A series. There are also quite a few Japanese paper sizes such as the Shiroku-ban series and Kiku series which still survive in some uses (my daugher's favourite notebooks for example).

Fascinating. The ISO B sizes are different to the JIS B sizes. I didn't know that!

With my Libra Colour, I simply have to avoid having it connected to a USB power source when I hold the power button for an extended time, release the power button and then press it again.

On a side note, I thought that zi/zim/ziz or zi/zir were replacements for he/she, her/him, etc. So a typo with zi instead of I?

That would suggest on startup, your Clara Colour found a database (either KoboReader.sqlite or BookReader.sqlite) was corrupted to the point where a factory reset was needed (the way to tell is the simple factory reset leaves the firmware version unchanged while the full factory reset from the Developer options menu or the manual factory reset wipes back to the factory shipped firmware version).

Oh well... I immediately restored KoboReader and BookReader.sqlite from a partial backup I had.. But it's weird that it appears randomly after things (the FW version didn't change)
