Metadata in Kobo db

A bit of a weird question:

Is there a way to pull the list of collections off my Forma and list the titles in them?

Basically, I've been doing a major revamp of my collections in calibre, and need to know if the changed collections have the correct books on the Forma. Obviously, I can see if the book is on the device in calibre, but what I want to know is if collection A has 50 books in calibre, are they in collection A on the Kobo and are they the same books?

Connect your Kobo to your calibre library. Once calibre finished scanning, click the device button and look at your library. You can see what eBooks are in what collection(s) from there.

Perhaps you meant the Device not the library?

A guess, that may help, depending on how you do collections...

Open calibre and connect your reader
Click on the device column header to sort books that are on the device
Click on your collection column to sort by collection

As an alternative, use some DB app to query the Kobo table(s).

Just remember that the Kobo driver might update the collections on the device when it's connected.... Check the calibre settings before connecting

Yes, I found the device list. Is there a way to export it? I'm comparing an export from LibraryThing to an export from calibre, and I need to add in the books on the Forma.

Basically, I'm doing a massive reconciliation exercise.

As long as you have your settings correct in calibre, you don't need to double check your Kobo.

In Preferences > Sending books to devices, as long as Metadata management is set to Automatic management and your collections column is set correctly in the KoboTouch driver, your books will be in whatever collections you have set in the collections column.
