They're both compatible, don't stress.
I would still use KOReader for better community suport and more customization, though you likely won't have problems with either one.

Neither is really ePub3 compatible. KOReader has a bit better support but both do not use the NAV document so you must ensure toc.ncx is present. They also fail my fixed layout ePub test.

I tried to use the autoload scripts to install KOReader on my Clara via my Mac, running MacOS 26.4.1 (Tahoe). My Mac steadfastly refuses to open the script. There is no app which I have on my machine that will open it: Terminal, BBEdit, Excel, Word, Notes, Nova, Numbers, Obsidian, Pages, Preview, TestEdit, Ulysses -- nothing. Ideas? Punt?

Angry Need help installing KOReader on Kobo Clara on Mac.

MacOS 26.4.1 will not open the installation script for me. Help?
