Firmware Update Kindle 5.19.4 software is available

5.19.4.0.1 has been released for all devices. besides the 11th gen 2022/pw5

The release notes for Scribe Colorsoft already had all of the features listed in 5.19.3.0.1, except maybe AI-powered In-Notebook search and insights, which I would not have discovered.

I'm not seeing evidence of "AI-powered In-Notebook search and insights" feature. There is Summarize (which I think was there before) but in my testing so far it flubs up 5-10% of the time.

Scribe Colorsoft now has all three Highlight styles: Highlight, Underline, and Outline. Highlights can be in 5 colors, the other 2 can use any of the 10 colors.

With Pen set to a drawing tool (Pen, Fountain Pen, Marker, Pencil, Shader), underlining generates underline highlight, and encircling a text selection outlines it.

With Pen set to highlight or select/fingertip tool, it uses highlight style when you hold and then select text.

The three styles can be applied to the same selection independently.

Sync between my 2 Scribes (the other is 2022 Scribe) is a little slow.

The colors get flattened to grey (for highlight) and black (for outline). And of course other Kindles and the Kindle apps do not show Outline or Underline highlights at all.

Now that 5.19.4.0.1 has been released for scribe 2024/2025 and basic 2024, can anyone confirm if it broke full refresh option or not?

I saw a couple comments about it on other platforms but I'm unsure if it's related to like azw3 or kfx or normal books vs fixed layout. or if it's just user error somehow.

For a few firmware versions now (I’m not sure exactly which one), the full refresh doesn’t work for KF8/AZW3, at least on my Scribe 2022. In KFX, which is the format I use, it works fine. I haven’t tested it on other Kindle devices.

Edit: It doesn't work with the latest firmware on any of my Kindle e-readers. It does work on the PW5 (5.19.2). (I'm referring to KF8/AZW3).

Thanks for the info, it was probably broken in 5.19.3 then for just azw3 since it also introduced some other new bugs. And just to clarify, you are talking about normal reflowable azw3 books and not fixed layout comics/manga?
