Amazon is advertising 2026 Prime Day June 23-26

Can't help noting that this is just after the deadline to update defunct Kindles with the EOL deal, for those who were hoping to double dip on discount + sale price!

I think I read somewhere that Amazon may be investigated for pricing algorithms that instantly react to negate any competitor's attempt to compete on price. I think I saw this happen a few days ago when my furnace filters suddenly dropped 10% then went back up within an hour or two.

For the last couple of years, I've found that doing an Internet search often finds a lower price at other stores than were found on Amazon. I was in a local Best Buy the other day and one duo that were browsing TVs with the intent to purchase on-line were gobsmacked when they found the TV they were looking at was cheaper at Best Buy and, hey, instant gratification. Possibly a different situation elsewhere but this is my experience in Canada.

Just got this offer on my Kindle Unlimited page when logged into my Amazon account. It appears to be an "early Prime offer", and may be targeted but I'm not looking a gift horse etc. Signed up immediately, no payment until September 2. Hope it works for other folks!

Something is going on. Couple weeks ago I ordered 2 basket liners for my mobility scooters. 1st came in 48 hours from AZ Brand New! 2ed took 2 weeks to arrive from CA IS USED! No I did not order used Paid for New got used... They Amazon has yet to make it right.

I've noticed the same thing in the US. The last tech device I purchased from Amazon was in 2020. I mostly buy these devices at Best Buy because the prices are cheaper.

Best Buy will also price-match items sold by Amazon (but NOT Marketplace vendors) and a few other online retailers.

I often check Best Buy against Amazon, and the prices flip back and forth as to who is cheaper. It takes 30 minutes for me to make a round trip to my closest Best Buy (not including time spent browsing in the store). Amazon usually has most things delivered to my door within 24 hours of me ordering it, sometimes even in 2 or 3 hours! The selection at Amazon is better - just today I ordered some computer CPU thermal paste from Amazon that Best Buy doesn't stock. I would have bought that from Best Buy if they had the specific brand/item (Arctic MX-7) that I was looking for, even if it had been more expensive. I could have used the paste immediately today, now I have to wait until tomorrow morning to get it delivered here (I can't really complain about that slight "delay" though!)
