Really great, the author describes the plots' different characterizations and changes during the 10 years of work, into the postface. The project started at the middle of the making of "The Grocery", into the wondering to draw an adventure set on outer space; later there were added some scenes on planets, as for the need to give atmospheres, within them color's renderings.
A very pleasant graphic novel.

"The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch" Philip K. Dick, nice.
"Police Your Planet", Lester del Rey, also very nice; I get where Brackett enlightened her inspire. The first part wasn't too comforting, but loved the reading after all.

Now on "The Eden Cycle" by Raymond Z. Gallun.

Ps: thanks for the suggestion of "Standard Ebooks", there is a science fiction section, too.
Also the covers look nicer than so many sold ones. There is one from Clark Ashton Smith, which I guess it would not be an easy reading.

He read an unabridged dictionary word for word, studying not only the definitions of the words but also their etymology.

The other main course in Smith's self-education was to read the complete 11th edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica at least twice

I liked West of Eden by Harry Harrison. But I'm thinking that was probably a totally different storyline.

My libraries have many copies of Steinbecks but I have never managed to snag a copy without a hold.

I always have a difficult time deciding what book I want to read next. I just finished The Hunt For Atlantis by Andy McDermott (genre: Action/Adventure). I'm maybe 1/4 the way through Fool Moon by Jim Butcher - the Graphic Audio version of the audiobook - I plan to continue this in tandem with my next written book choice, but I may decide to finish it solo before starting another book. I tend to like audiobooks only for specific situations - on trips where I'm stuck sitting for a long time with my brain wandering, and in bed at night when I can't go to sleep. I will admit, this Graphic Audio version is engaging.

For my next written read, I am currently considering:
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling (I've read the first five, need to finish the series)
  • Hail Mary by Andy Weir (The Martian was great IMHO)
  • Seven Deadly Wonders by Matthew Reilly (I've read a few of his, Action/Adventure, fun)
  • The Lost Power by Avanti Centrae (new author to me, have wanted to try her books)
  • The Solomon Key by Nick Thacker (has written a ton of Action/Adventure, none of which I have read yet)
I'll do some more searching through my stokepile of books to see if any other candidates jump out at me.

And I enjoyed the re-read. It has a splendid ending.

Next up was The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett. The revised version, by 17-year-old and 47-year-old Terry.

It was better than I remembered.

I followed that by The Windsingers and The Limbreth Gate by Megan Lindholm (Robin Hobb) which I thought were second and third in a trilogy, but turn out to be second and third in a quadrology.
A good fantasy, good enough that I've bought the final book at full price!

But before I get to that, I'm reading Death in the House by Anthony Berkeley. One from the 'golden age' of detective fiction. And its of its age, with all characters showing off their sexism and racism.

"Who Censored Roger Rabbit" by Gary K. Wolf. I read it as a paperback before seeing the movie based on it, and I recently purchased it as an ebook.

I'd just finished "The Eden Cicle" by Raymond Z. Gallun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymon...#Short_fiction), which was his first long novel (didn't knew the first two had been wrote on his 16s). The novel is dedicated to his wife, that did passed away short before.
It's about a "Super-Super" alien specie that created a parallel world, where many persons live in; everything it's possible in there, within just the desire, infinite life and experiences, thought there is something missing...

I'm in the middle of the second volume of "Tokyo Ghost", a graphic novel by Rick Remender, with Sean Gordon Murphy (Illustrator).
The graphic arts in there are amazing; the colours, the style, the characters' drawings... the story has though violence, and also not a clean speech. Apart that there are also some charming, calming moments, and overall it's imho a masterpiece (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Ghost).
Ps: reading on a review there was quite a spoiler, thought it was for the first volume only.

In March 2021, Legendary Entertainment had begun development of a film adaptation of Tokyo Ghost with Cary Joji Fukunaga set to direct and produce.

Just finished this up this morning. A WWII story centered around an angel that gets "shot down." thought it was interesting and very engaging. It was a tad too phallically obsessed for my taste in places, but I didn't dwell on it. It had a Joseph Heller/Catch-22 vibe to me.

I didn't know this was a Pulitzer winner when I decided to purchase it. I don't go out of my way to read prize-winning books, but neither do I avoid them. Having read a few Pulitzer winners over the years, this one seemed like a slightly strange pick. Overall, I have to say I'm glad I chose it.
