Boox Go 10.3 (Gen II) Lumi vs Palma 2 Pro - screen comparison

Just happen to have both on hand so some photos to compare the colour vs b&w screen.

The Go 10.3 looks way better. Thinking about buying this to replace me old Max Lumi 1, how do you find the Go overall? How is the OS, I heard 4.1 is bad

The Go 10.3 does look far better - it's as crisp as you'd expect a modern e-reader. It's one of those upgrades where if you're coming from a Kindle several years old, it's lightyears ahead - thinner, more powerful, flexible Android apps, even does YouTube and Spotify. And naked without the case, it's just so slim, you want every other tablet, color or not, to be as thin.

Basically a very nice Xmas or birthday gift, IMO. Definitely a luxury statement, too, IMO.

....

As for the OS - it's a skinned Android. Don't like it? Install Nova Launcher or the slew of Android launchers available and do it your way.

As for running Android apps and all - it's basically a B&W Android tablet.
Meaning as long as color isn't critical to the use of an app or you don't need color in your media, it works like any other Android tablet. YouTube, Microsoft Office, Spotify, etc. just run like they would.
Naturally, games with fast moving stuff ain't happening, but slower games, even Chess or Flappy Birds is manageable.

....

The Palma is one of those curious devices. Not quite large enough to be useful as an e-reader, IMO, unless you frequently read standing in a train or bus. And the color isn't a great plus - think faded newspaper cartoons - making one pull out the smartphone if reading color comics.
