Microsoft Windows is very limited in its ability to hide secrets contained in running code from its owner/administrator unlike Android, iOS, and e-ink Kindles. I was using Kindle for PC 1.17 a couple weeks ago to make sure I had everything up to April 2025 downloaded. Thought they'd leave Kindle for PC alone until the June 30 cut off.

I just commented in the other thread, but my jailbroken Oasis 3 also on 5.18.2 just in the last half hour worked fine. A fresh download (wasn't previously downloaded on the OA3) and then imported to Calibre fine.

After your comment I thought I would test mine again and it's now fine. Very strange. It was definitely a KFX ZIP earlier. now KFX.

Why? There's nothing left to say that's not already been said. The older Kindles (those that do not download KFX) are no longer supported except for maybe send-to-Kindle. Do you have anything else to add?

Most of these older Kindles were used to download Kindle eBooks in order to be able to remove the DRM. So talking about how to do this with supported Kindles is useful.
