Error Communicating with Device-Android Phone and Tablet

I recently got a new Android phone and tablet. Version info below:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10FE running Android Version 16.

Samsung Galaxy A17 5G running Android Version 16

I am running the latest update of Calibre Companion from Google Play store.

I'm trying to add my books to my phone & tablet so I can read where I want, but I keep hitting this "Error Communicating with Device" error on both my new devices. While it's been awhile since I set this stuff up on a device, this ain't my first rodeo. I've done this set up with my older devices without a problem.

I'm hoping this is some sort of permission or settings issue that one of the very smart people in this format can tell me the answer to quickly before I try sending error logs to Multipie.

Please let me know if any of you have any ideas or need more info to diagnose the issue.

They have not pulled Calibre Companion ?
CC is seriously broken and has been for YEARS
The original version was good, but then the product was bought and turned into a mess with updates that did not work right.

Pocketbook App on Android does work with Calibre Content server on local WiFi, though I prefer USB or Total Commander & copy via SMB plugin.
