after about 24 hours of not working...my k5 did finally download some books. of the dozen books queued, 3 randomly downloaded but the other 9 still said 'pending - 0%' so I forced a restart, again...and then the other 9 downloaded. So I'm back up for the next few days...checking my wish list to see if there are any final purchases I want to make. or not.

All someone would get is whatever eBooks you have on that Kindle. There would no access to your Amazon account.

Go to your Amazon account > content library. Unclick every title that appears as being in your Kindle. If the thief connects your Kindle to a wi-fi, all clicked titles should disappear. (This should work only until May 20th; from then on we don't know if this would be operative.

Nope. The thief gets all the ebooks currently available (downloaded/sideloaded) on the device. Amazon would not have any control over tha device.
