Sidebar: In all of its various incarnations, a Kindle jailbreak, in itself, has never, ever, prevented any form of stock Amazon logging.

It certainly *allows* you to do something about it if you wish (and know what you're doing), but it doesn't *do* anything.

If that bothers you, I have a simple solution: don't get a Kindle. And if you're stuck with one for whatever reason, hobble it as mentioned above.

I was struggling with it a bit. The instructions missed that I have to press the Menu button one more time while in the menu to find Restart. After that, the diagnostics booted up. However, I couldn't do the last step with the left button; it always went back to the diagnostics. So I re-copied the files, waited, and then it miraculously worked, and the Jailbreak screen popped up. Thank you for your work.

Deregistering your kindle from amazon, creating a Books folder and using Koreader pointed to that folder instead of Documents will pretty much snip it in the bud. If you've also used the kual tweak to turn off OTA updates you can also use wifi with many of the popular koreader plugins like wireless calibre ebook transfering to the device. Access to cloud storage etc.
