Error: Connection is busy in another thread
Is there a problem with creating an Export of the library in Calibre 9.8?
I've done this for many years, making an Export of my library from my Windows 11 machine and importing it to my Linux Mint machine. Today I'm getting a failure to import after just a few seconds: calibre, version 9.8.0*ERROR: Failed: Failed to import data. Click "Show details" for more information. Traceback (most recent call last):*File "calibre\gui2\dialogs\exim.py", line 156, in run_action*File "calibre\utils\exim.py", line 478, in import_data*File "calibre\db\cache.py", line 3804, in import_library*File "calibre\db\cache.py", line 1863, in update_path*File "calibre\db\backend.py", line 2076, in update_path*File "calibre\db\backend.py", line 2008, in update_paths_in_db*apsw.ThreadingViolationError: Connection is busy in another thread The reason I suspect the creation of the Export files is that I have an older version of Calibre (version 9.6) and I get the same error on import. I've tried re-exporting the data and making sure Calibre is closed before coping the files to a flash drive. I've tried importing the files to Linux Mint as well as several Windows 11 machines and i always get the error message. Any ideas? |

There are no changes to export/import in 9.8 or 9.7 or 9.6. You likely have a third party plugin installed causing issues. Run as calibre --ignore-plugins

Still a mystery why the problem persisted after removal of the offending plugin (Count Pages). ![]() I'll spend some time rebuilding a new library and test after each new plugin, just in case it was a different plug-in. |

If it is as you say. Count pages is running into a BAD BOOK while running that is tripping things.
If you did not start a count job, then it is not running. It needs to open each (selected) book, to do the count. No job, no counting. |

Thanks for the input guys. I've installed Count Pages again. However, I have one remaining issue, if you don't mind helping...(should this be posted in the Plugins section?)
When I click Download from selected (or all) sources, I get the following error: Could not analyze some statistics – No identifiers for selected download sources I have tried adding additional sources but still get the error. I even recreated the custom columns in Calibre using floating point numbers instead of integers. Any ideas what causes the error? Thanks again. |

{identifiers} is a standard column. ISBN:1234567890123 is an EXAMPLE entry. There are others that may do better depending on country |

Thank you, but I don't understand how that helps me get rid of the error message. I notice there is an Identifiers column on the Other page of the Customize Plugin window, but no clue what to do. It's checked for the sources I'm interested in (as is the Display source column)...

The Goodreads identifier will be something like this: 'goodreads:52968035'. To obtain this identifier, you need to have Goodreads configured as a metadata source, and download the metadata for that book. The identifier will be filled automatically. After that, the Count Page plugin can fetch the page count correctly. |

However, Goodreads is rather wonky with their metadata. So I would not accept the page numbers it gives.

Thanks all. I'll just stick to letting CP do its own thing without reference to other sources.
Finally figured out that "Identifiers" refers to what Calibre calls "Ids" in the metadata. Why I would need to add one specifically for Goodreads other than the isbn I don't understand (but don't need to). Thanks again for the help. |
