My Libra 2 is portable. It's easy to hold. I use it in bed, sitting on the couch, and other places. I don't it's too big. What can be too big is 8".

Comfort light is certainly yellow, not orange, on both my Sage and Libra 2. I use it a lot when reading in artificial light.

I know you prefer 7", but for me, it's a compromise size that doesn't do anything especially well. It's only for those who want only one device. For anyone who is willing to run to more than one device, and certainly for those who have no objection to keeping older devices in play, I think it's inferior. |

I can read comfortably either on 7" or 8". I don't want to read on 6", and I don't want to read on anything bigger than 8".
I only read at home. And never in bed. And of course I have more than one ereader, which I use mostly interchangeably. So I guess there are as many preferences as there are people. |

I've read comfortably on 6-8" and prefer 6 ereaders. I'd guess I could read comfortably on larger as I used to work staring at a computer monitor all day.
Although I did get eyestrain when I tried reading fiction on the first iPad. |

Thought, (I hopefully wonder that Kobo would take the mobius path), on that wiki is described how 7,8"/8" has an highest DPI ratio - for that kind of screen - nearby the other sizes. Personally I wouldn't let the Forma until it doesn't works anymore, and I give once and then a look at the colour ones because I would like to enjoy some comics or graphic novels on digital too (althought the main series I like seems not even to be on digital), and then I say to myself that a 8" probably wouldn't be enought for those readings (manga are fine, btw - and imho). While looking at others devices, I gues I would renunce at the buttons if there is a stylus. |

After 15+ years of using first 6’’ ereaders exclusively until 2017 and then 7’’ ereaders since then, I’m fairly sure that as I’m aging (and so are my very myopic eyes which were bad already in kindergarten, 45 years ago, and have now got to the really uncomfortable point where I need different prescriptions for reading and walking around but either way, I can’t see anything but vague blobs of colour without them), I know I don’t want a 6’’ reader again.
The 7’’ Oasis and Boox Go 7 are a good size to bring with me when travelling, as in for a multi-day trip; otherwise, I only read at home anyway. I’ve been thinking for a while that 7’’ is starting to feel a little cramped for me but with the dearth of new, available 8’’ readers currently on the market, decided to take the jump and go for the Boox Go 10.3 last week. I was worried it’d be too large for comfortable reading but now that I’ve had it for about 4 days and read for an hour or two every evening, it’s actually very fine. I played around with the font & margin settings until I got them to what is, to me, a good compromise and something that looks reasonably similar to a good quality larger hardcover page with the font size, line spacing and margins, and since my favoured way of reading is on the sofa, with my feet propped up and the e-reader propped up on my knees, it’s actually really comfortable. It wouldn’t be good for travel (not least because I’d be terrified to break it, and because I got the gen I without frontlight, but also because it has quite large bezels) - I think 7’’ is, for me, the sweet spot there. But for home use .. I find the 10’’ screen is really surprisingly comfortable. (It’s very grey though. I wonder if putting black tape over the bezels would help - at least part of the apparent darkness of the background should be down to optical illusion.) I’d still really like a new BW 7-8’’ dedicated device with buttons though… come on, Kobo, surely there are still enough people clamouring for those to make it worth its while commercially? |

The Nxtpaper is far superior to color eink for colour content.
Mono eink, even 227 dpi, is superior to the color eink for mono content. I've not a single actual reflowable novel that needs colour. The Last Hero is colour with text and is fixed layout, so needs a large screen. Some images are across two pages so it works well on the 14.25″ TCL Nxtpaper 14 using Pocketbook. I have a Nxtpaper 40 & 50 (phones) and 11 & 14 Tablets. All have good enough battery life and though I'd never read in direct sunlight, they do work in that situation (auto brightness). I use them about 9% to 17% manual brightness indoors with all the epaper simulation off. Best in sRGB mode. I'd use the Nxtpaper 50 outdoors now instead of the Sony PRS-350. The Sage is my favourite for novels and the original Libra for reading out loud due to the more reliable buttons than Libra 2 or Sage. I gave away the Elipsa and the reMarkable, but it came back when the owner got a Sage. She hated the reMarkable. I've seen 3 different Color eink models in person and they were far worse than web page photos or videos. |
