I hope someone can help. I've installed the plugin from Github. Today I was tying to find it in calibre to see the options. I cannot find it. Does anyone know who to find it in calibre? It's install and works, but I cannot see it.

I might not be understanding what you're looking for, but in Calibre, the plugin should be at:

Preferences > Plugins > Show Only User Installed Plugins > File Type

I did look there. Nothing showed up.

I've sorted the problem. I restored an older config backup and copied over some update json files.

You will find the DeACSM preference directory in %appdata%/calibre/plugins Hit Windows-R and enter that string.

One issue is the quite a few plugins do not remove their preferences when deleted.

Is the plugin even invoked during the uninstall? From a quick read of the calibre plugin API doc I don't see a call for that

I'm thinking that the plugin system for calibre needs to be changed so that when a plugin in uninstalled that it cleans up after itself.

It should ONLY ASK because you may be doing a roll back and not want to lose your good settings.

Remember while a change might be beneficial for MAINTAINED plugins, I doubt very much if it would apply to UNMAINTAINED plugins.

Thank you! Ok, I found this but am not sure what to do I'm sorry, I feel really dumb but hopefully this is my last question.

I found the ACSMInput folder (is this the right one?) with a folder named "account" and 2 files "activation" and "device". Is this the one? Do I just delete the account folder?

I would suggest trying deleting the activation.xml file first. If that doesn't work, then you might want to try removing the ACSMInput folder. On my system, I have an ACSMInput folder with the ACSMInput.json file and a DeACMSM folder with the account and modules folders. Probably due to having installed the plugin before the name change.

Rename the ACSMInput folder e.g. "ACSMInput_old" Now close your file manger, close calibre.

Now open calibre, go to plugins find the ACSM plugin click on it then customize, click on "link to ADE account" enter your adobe id and password.
