Granted, if you read a lot of fantasy, there often are maps. But those maps aren't necessarily colored. |

There are maps. But more often than not they were unusable on my Aura One. So I ended up running them as background on my computer anyway.
More on topic, I gave up on Kobo, they don't want to sell me an e-reader so I bought another brand. |

Well, if worse comes to worst and my current readers give up the ghost with no new 7-8" devices from Kobo, I'll probably buy a Boox. Perhaps install KOReader on it. Not a Pocketbook, as their ereaders often have poor contrast compared to other brands, and are rumored to be slow (I'd be glad to be wrong, here). Plus the English dictionary Pocketbooks use is hopelessly outdated (from 1913!), while you can presumably install any Android dictionary on a Boox. The Pocketbook native reader also doesn't have font weight adjustment, while the Boox native reader does.
But I do hope Kobo will get off their collective ass and do something. The current situation isn't good for a lot of people. |

I‘ve read one book where color was used in an interesting way. A few years ago I reread The Neverending Story and they used pink and green text color to differentiate fantasy and real world parts. |

I'd find it a pain to read if the text was any other color than black (I haven't read The Neverending Story, I assume we're talking about long blocks of text, not a couple of sentences?)

Another way to do it that doesn't involve color is to use different fonts.

Yes long blocks of text. Not saying that I prefer this to b/w text, just saying that it was interesting. |

I bought a Sage after the Libra 2 came out since there were no signs of a Forma upgrade. Big mistake.
It's got a better screen and faster processor, but rut battery life and responsiveness suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks It's a little better now after updates, but the battery life is still bad and it doesn't seem to wake up the page turn buttons if it wakes from sleep. . |

I'd like a 7" b&w KOBO with buttons. I really like my Clara B&W, but buttons would be nice.
I'd also like to see KOBO do their own version of the X4 with a b&w 300 ppi screen. The small form factor seems to have taken off, but I'd like one with a better screen. So give me a bigger screen one, and then give me a more portable one. The current Clara B&W kinda fits right between those two. |

I recently managed to get an Elipsa 2e on eBay and my first thought was it’s just a bigger Sage/Forma which I love. I much prefer it to my Kindle Scribe. I loved the 8” size, and the thin Forma was my favourite.

Kobo will have to file something with the FCC very soon if they plan to release something this year. There may be supply problems, memory anyone?, that are interfering with their plans... Plans which should include 7" and 8" BW devices, and an updated Elipsa. I purchased a glowlight 4 plus on sale-- it was the same price as the Clara BW-- since there is no 8" device avfailable from Kobo anymore. I would have preferred a Kobo. I do enjoy the larger screen, and the page turn buttons are nicer than my Libra 2's so i have no regrets.
Really, I would get an Elipsa with 300ppi 1300 eCarta. I do like a larger screen these days. The GL4+ gets a lot of read time just because of the larger screen. |
