Snowball by Gregory Bastianelli is $1 at Amazon and Kobo. I already have it, though it is on my ever growing and now teetering TBR.

A group of motorists become stranded on a lonely stretch of highway during a Christmas Eve blizzard and fight for survival against an unnatural force in the storm. Following up. In my opinion, you aren’t missing much. Set in WWI, the German soldiers act like Nazis who don’t exist yet. Early in the book, a group splits into two, and all urgency to reunite vanishes. It describes a prison camp for the most notorious enemies, yet two of the five prisoners, when their backstories are filled out, were actually noncombatants in the war.

I am about to bail at the 50% point because what little suspense is developing is overshadowed by typecast characters.

I still don't know a reliable way to find what Valencourt books are on sale.
