Wifi started playing up

So recently wifi has been failing me on my libra 2. Has been fine up to now.

If I am any distance at all from the router then a connection simply cannot be made.

When near the router I can connect, according to my router's list of connected devices, and I see an ip address reported on the kobo. However, any operation requiring a connection initiated from the device (e.g. a koreader update or dictionary download) results in the message "do you want to turn on wifi?".

Again I stress that this is a recent thing. The latest changes I recall were installing the x-ray plugin and a change of the wifi network. Issue may or may not have predated either of those.

Weirdly, I can still connect via ssh when wifi is enabled.

The context of all the above is "I use koreader almost exclusively".

If I start wifi in stock before entering koreader then the wifi works fine. Issues only seem to occur when starting wifi within koreader.
