Hierachial tags question
Is there a reason that a period was chosen as the delimiter? A slash seems like it would make more sense to me.

IMO, I think it's because a period is a much more rare caracter to use in a tag than a slash, a slash that can be used appropriately, and therefore meaningfully, in a tag.
