Preview font size increasing

Updated to 9.7 recently, and I have notice that sometimes the preview pane font size increases, apparently spontaneously. Looking at the preferences, nothing has changed, but the only way to get the proper font size back is to close the book I'm editing and open it again. I don't know what I do that triggers this. Is there a way to stop it from happening?

No need to close what you are editing. All you have to do is hold the CTRL key and move the mouse wheel and it will change the size of the text. Also, this is not a calibre 9.7 issue. I've had it happen on older versions of calibre. It's a QT issue.

Not a Qt issue. Under the covers the Preview panel is a web browser (Sigil editor too), ditto the calibre viewer. Ctrl+mouse wheel to zoom has been a feature of every browser I've used since I can't remember when.

I reported a similar issue way back and was told it was a QT issue.

calibre editor and viewer use QtWebEngine - Qt Wiki

Apparently (since I don't have a mouse wheel on my laptop) the solution is supposed to be Ctrl-0 to return to normal size... but that doesn't work either. Does anyone have any other ideas?

What about Ctrl+ and Ctrl- or this:

Name:	calibre - viewer controls - font size.jpg
Views:	34
Size:	37.9 KB
ID:	223004

or this:

Name:	calibre - viewer settings - font size.jpg
Views:	43
Size:	339.0 KB

Ctrl+/- don't work either (Ctrl-0 is supposedly reset zoom to normal size).

The images you posted don't seem to have anything to do with the preview pane in the editor... unless I'm missing something? The first one looks like something from the viewer, not the editor, and the second one looks like you're editing some JSON configuration file. (And frankly quitting editing and opening the book again looks easier to me than fiddling about with the config settings mid-edit.)

Kovid, any chance of passing ctrl-0/+/- through to the previewer instead of them being swallowed by the editor? AFAICS none of them do anything useful. Or maybe provide a button to reset the zoom in the toolbar at the bottom of the preview panel?

Kovid: Sorry, I'm playing catch-up here and I just saw your Github fix. Exactly as I wanted!
