Hello to all, this feature is 50% done, uses all the possible parameters there are in justRead.app and where it does make sense to export them.
The mapping looks like in the screenshot. This feature, with some few minor fixes and changes will be done this week. |

That looks very sensible. I like the split of read/unread and want_to_read/not. I will probably change my calibre database to add some of the other fields too, so that I get storage of the data in calibre as well as in justRead, as calibre is my 'source of truth' library.
With the syncing of books from calibre now working well, I'm keen to try out this new feature when it's ready. While development is still on-going, I'll mention that care should be taken with columns that are binary in justRead, but tri-state in calibre, so that the tri-state setting in calibre isn't overwritten. (All Yes/No columns in calibre are tristate - Yes, No and not set.) Last edited by pdurrant; 04-27-2026 at 12:24 PM. |

Hello JSWolf and thank you for your feedback.
The feature is name Two Way Calibre sync and is for syncing justRead parameters with user specified Calibre columns. Nothing about Kobo in this feature. In the roadmap there is another feature called Kobo sync that will be for what I think you want. Have a nice day and do not be so pushy [wink, wink] :-). |

One thing, Finished date should be changed to current reading date. The reason for this is that there is a plugin called Reading Goal and that's how it works. The last date when the percent is 100% would be the finished date. Last edited by JSWolf; 04-27-2026 at 01:54 PM. |

Update: the process is completely technically working, only minor changes and UI tweak and it will be done.

So it is done like this, see screenshots
1. When calibre server is set, new button for Calibre Mapping appears 2. When touched a new sheet appears to map justRead.app parameters to calibre columns. To make it easier, each parameter shows what type of column it has to be in Calibre and suggest a name for that column 3. When something changes for a book, that was synced from Calibre, a new option Send to calibre appears 4. When touched a new sheet for sending is shown 5. And when data are synced, they are updated in Calibre Tomorrow I will make more tests, UI polishing, etc. so there is no technical problem to make the release this week. I'm really looking forward to this.
I very much like only items with changed status get written back to calibre. |
