Who has problems with drivers installation in USB/fastboot mode, can use this github link
If you see some yellow mark in Device Manager after step "adb reboot bootloader " and command "fastboot devices" doesn't respond, just run the installer tool from the link.
I successfully used it for installing drivers in both USB and fastboot mode on my winddows 7 laptop

Also be sure to follow the instructions completely, if for some reason you get stuck in a boot loop after flashing a bad boot.img, holding all the physical buttons (power and all four page turn buttons) then plugging in the usb will start fastboot mode.

The method of holding the 5 buttons (4 sides + power) for 15 seconds + plugging in usb, isn't getting me into fastboot from the reset screen. adb reboot bootloader takes me to the reset screen.
The holding buttons method just reboots the device. What am I missing from the others in this thread who are able to get into fastboot.

Your operating system?

Linux works fine, windows might need drivers, and I don't have experience with macos.
