What's new in 1.4.2 (build 38)

• On tablets, drag the vertical divider between the book list and the book details to resize each side however you like.

• Sort by Series now shows books without a series at the bottom of the list, instead of hiding them.

• Fixed a sync issue that could leave Calibre Content Server libraries appearing empty. Your cached library now stays intact if the server has a hiccup mid-sync.

I made a succesful sync of my library from my Calibre v7.26 Content Server and even downloaded some books: filtering and searching were working fine.

However, when I shut down the app and openend it again without Wi-Fi connection to the Content Server, the library was gone.

If I restart the app with a Wi-Fi connection to the Content Server, it starts the sync process from zero: the downloaded books are still available. After a second sync the library was persistent, even without a Wi-Fi connection to the Content Server.

Also, if I try to do a multi selection download, it won't download anything but EPUB files, even if I click the "Download anyway" button.

EDIT: This can be remedied if you change the "Prefered format" option in the settings: switch the format, then redownload the missing books. It's a bit of a hassle, though.

Please advice.

I'm not sure why the books wouldn't be there when not connected. But any downloads should always be in their folder.
When selecting multiple books I didn't want to make it more complicated with picking which formats. So it defaults to only downloading your preferred format. I figure most people only use 1 or 2 formats.

If you have ideas on how to change things let me know!

I can also confirm that some ebooks (EPUB or otherwise) were downloaded without their covers.

It's my understanding that's a bug: the app states in the settings screen that ebooks are always downloaded with their covers.

Without Wi-Fi connection to Calibre Content Server, the language filter is absent: the other filters (series, tags, author) and the search are working fine.

I found an issue with how it downloads covers when doing bulk downloads. I'll be updating the version today

I'll be looking for it to do further testing.

What happens to the covers of the already downloaded ebooks?

Should I delete and download them again or is there another solution?

I don't know. I think if you try to download them again, the new fixes will see the cover is missing and download it. Please post results in the new thread.
