Note 3 (user/dev-keys)
I've browser for the last few weeks on most things related to this device. Lots to wrap your head around. It's a shame these devices aren't more open to user access. Is Onyx honestly so large that they have to lock down all of their systems to 'preserve the user experience associated with the brand'?
I digress. This Note3 has a habit of powering of after several weeks of use to find that the user/dev-keys file is no longer trusted (my understanding). Factory reset resolves the issue only for it to reappear in a few weeks again. Of course there are annotations for a few books that I'd like to recover. Fastboot is the only route by which the device is accessible. Recovery does not show any events from 'udev'. The official image/updates are no longer valid on the Onyx website, links are broken. I can access logs from recovery but it's a mess to decipher. On another note, why this thing runs SElinux and alsa is beyond me. Is there really no repo where firmware is being archived? What a great device. Such shameful support. |

Thanks for the upx Renate, you're a champ on these forums.
I really can't stand this kind of manufacturer behavior and expected better from a chinese brand. ADB in not exposed via stock recovery. Fastboot is so minimal it only lists the devices. Does not expose any data via 'fastboot getvar all'. On the recovery menu 'mount /system' is allowed but without an interface there's nothing to do except read the logs and cry about it. Is my only option to learn about the two different EDL modes now? |

Not sure where to go from here.
EDL require some sort of 'firehose' that isn't publicly available. Custom recovery would be something to load if I'm out of options and willing to nuke the thing back into factory default and count my notes as a total loss. Any advise is greatly appreciated, thanks! |

Looking for ways to install Renates mod on the mainboard so that EDL can be triggered with a pass of a magnet.
Resources/References across the internet are becoming increasingly difficult to come by. |
