• Have doubts this is fixable: If the left side BD has kb focus, I can't dismiss the panel with the Toggle EBD shortcut (for me that's Ctrl+Alt+E), I have to give the Book list focus first (for me that's Ctrl+Shift+L).
  
• IMO, there needs to be a subtle visual indication that the left side BD has focus, I suggest making the "Extended Book Details" at top of panel Bold Italic.
  
• I would not object if Escape in left side BD relinquished focus

The third (Escape to relinquish focus) This came from a member of my local library reading group.

If Escape is troublesome, how about making the "Focus Extended Book Details panel" a toggle?

If you change this action_spec to:

class LeftBookDetailsAction(InterfaceAction):
    name = 'Extended Book Details'
    action_spec = (_('Extended Book Details'), None, _('Toggle Extended Book Details in the left pane'), None)

The full name will appear in menus, and the "Use short button label (EBD)" config setting will take care of button labels.

What is "In Tag Browser"?



- no such column in Preferences->Add your own columns, it's not in the EBD Left panel field list, nor anywhere else.

I suspect you latched onto the description for some custom columns 'appears in Tag Browser'

It was some internal field, it seems. The "All" fields populating was using a larger set than the visible set of columns.

Thanks, found better icons, I don't buy DRM'd books on principle, if I can't get it DRM free, I'll borrow from library, buy from a bookshop, or do without.

Had a quick squizz at BLP - looks good on paper.

If it works as I hope, then I can break free of the coincident nexus between which columns to show and which columns to sort, that is inherent in View Manager.

If you find it needed, I think it's fine. I don't see a problem in discussing other plugins in another plugin thread, but users might indeed miss relevant info on current developments...

added: BTW, I don't intend to release a new CH version just yet.
