Has anyone tried this program?
I seem to remember seeing this program mentioned somewhere in the many threads I've been reading today and I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried it and if it works as advertised:

I don't think I've ever had to use a key extractor before... and where can I find the KFXKeyExtractor28.exe file?? :::EDIT: I actually found KFXKeyEstractor28 and 282 and KFXKeyExtractor.exe::: Do I need to manually put those files somewhere or are they installed into Calibre when I install the DRM tools? I have KFXInput version 283 but that doesn't seem to be the same thing. Is the extractor really needed? And are all of these updated files back compatible with older books? I'm definitely confused. I am still unsure what I will do. I am of the firm belief that if I buy a book I should legally be allowed to read it how ever I want as many times as I want. I have used Epubor and calibre for decades to facilitate that.
I never successfully managed to use only calibre and the plug ins to remove drm. I do see my version of Epubor will no longer work when kindle keyboard stops working after May 20. It still works fine today with a book I just bought. I guess I will try and see if I can get calibre with kindle my pc updated version. to handle books I’ve currently bought to work. If that works then I guess I will not buy a 11th gen kindle and buy a new license for the updated version of Epubor as people see to think that does work. I really really like how Epubor helps organize my books and it is another back up source beyond calibre. I am a little paranoid about back ups. As some how may main file that I use to keep my books organized in folders on my e readers some how got deleted. It’s too large to stay on recycle bin. |

They're cutting off some Kindles from access to the online services.

I expect it is just an implementation of methods you can find in this forum, but it greatly eases the process for the most recent techniques. |

Interesting, I was looking on their web site and couldn't see any listing on if the trial version had a time limit or what specific restrictions is might have if I decide to give it a try. |

Hope Amazon hasn't closed off the few remaining options by then. Just like those of us using the free DeDRM tools.
Although once my Kindle Touch is cut off, I don't really care if my Paperwhite 2 and Kindle for PC still work because I don't want kfx. |

They may take their time but it seems that Amazon just slowly closes up all remaining holes in their DRM scheme. I wouldn't be surprised if they take another year to close the remaining gaps, but seeing what they did so far I think they will.

I expect that if the old Kindle workaround goes away (as seems likely) and more modern Kindles are switched to the newer currently unbroken KFX encryption, someone will come up with a new decryption tool in a few months, if only for the intellectual challenge of it.
DRM where you have both the decryption key and the decrypting software on a single computer can always be reverse engineered. It's just whether the effort is worth it. |
