Request for Sub-forum

Hi Mods,

Hope you all are doing well.

We have been very active on the forum and continue improve our platform and push the boundaries of reading. We have happy users both on the forum and that previously used other app.s

We have native Android and iOS apps along with a web reader and will have native Windows, Mac & Linux apps in the near future.

What is the process to get a BookFusion sub forum created under https://www.mobileread.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=165 ?

There is a subforum in Reddit for those interested in bookfusion. From the bookfusion store, I gather that the focus is a bit different from Kindle store. More intermediate text books are offered. Do you have monthly sales of titles?
Virustotal rates the site as safe for browsing, in case anyone is interested.

The store front is not the main point of BookFusion. The primary focus are power reader apps and features that cover Calibre companion, Marvin, Kybooks and others on the sub forum mentioned.

As a platform, that does eBooks it was only natural to add an optional store front as an additional revenue stream. This also helps to ensure we are here forever, to continuously updated the apps for our readers.

Not sure if you are a MOD but the request was made on the basis of other apps being listed at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=165 . Could you share the criteria for what determines which apps get listed on that sub forum?

We have been on MobileRead for about 13 years now. It should be quite clear that we are focused and are not going anywhere anytime soon. Multiple apps have come and gone but we have been steady and consistent.

Hey, I just tried it out and I'm open to the idea of your app but I don't see a way to export my highlights using Bookfusion.

Uploading a book from iOS to the web also did not send the highlights with it. Is that expected behaviour?

Let's try to keep the discussions in the same thread so they are not all spread out. But this was addressed via the support system when you reached out.

Unfortunately, it will happen to all apps eventually once they are no longer maintained. Apple also forces developers to no longer support older OSes

Has the policy of MobileRead changed over the last 3 years? We have been dedicated members of the community and requested a dedicated sub topic before here both publicly and privately to mods here. In the past we mainly used MobileRead but there was resistance to give us a dedicated sub.

What is the policy that a new app that was just released now has a dedicated space that is also solely iOS?

We have yet to be provided with the guidelines required to get a dedicated space:

• No cost or sponsorship requirement
• No number of installs requirement
• No confirmation whether it must be paid or open source

As it is, it seems there is either a shift in policy or simply favoritism/nepotism.

I was even told by others that they are no longer adding dedicated forum for different apps. However, it appears that in fact just as this world has shown us there are rules for some and not for others.

Hope someone can add some light to this or at minimum guess it brings awareness to others.

I'll see if the other mods have any objections to a revamp of the ebook software forums. It looks like there are two or three moribund forums there that should be moved to an 'abandoned' section. And personally I don't object to a bookfusion forum.
