Yesterday I just tried the new DevCerts from the NiLuJe packages mentioned above to get my Kindle PW (1) working again with KUAL. But there is no variants regarding the Kindle PW (1) inside those packages and none of the other certification key seems to work with the PW. Are somewhere also certification keys available for PW? The serial number prefix of my PW is B024 and the firmware version is 5.3.5. Thanks a lot!

DevCert K5 ALL bin is for PW1 (it's actually for all Kindle models using v5.x firmware branch = anything released since Kindle Touch model)

I have a winterbreak jailbroken Kindle Gen 11 with ads and am stuck trying to install Python and the ScreenSavers hack. I've copied what I think are the correct bin files to the MRPI folder and tried installing them via KUAL/MR but nothing seems to have been installed. I also have the toggle ads scriplet installed via Kindle Forge. Could someone please confirm which of the Python and ScreenSavers bin files I should be using? Do I need to restore OTA updates to do this? Thanks

99% those bin packages are for the old versions (lower than 5.16.3), while your Kindle on a higher firmware require hardfloat packages (hf).
Try asking on Discord if someone rebuild those for hf: https://discord.gg/kindle |

Ah, thanks, my Kindle is on 5.17.1.0.4. I hadn't realised these packages were so old.

Kindle DX Jailbreak problems
Hello everyone!
I really hope someone can help me with my issue... I have an old Kindle DX (B004) US currently running on Soft version 2.5.6 (501108064) + UFH 0.3 I wanted to jailbreak the device and install KUAL and Koreader but have the following issue: Obviously, when I have +UFH 0.3 already installed I have my device already jailbroken and in addition the above font hack installed. The problem is that I cannot upgrade now to soft version 2.5.8 - most probably because of the jailbreak. I found that for the font hack I used the jailbreak_0.13.N_dx_install.bin so I located the Update_jailbreak_0.13.N_dx_uninstall.bin and tried to uninstall the jailbreak. Unfortunately I cannot find an uninstall for the UFH 0.3 and I cannot revert the device to it's original firmware from where I can upgrade to version 2.5.8 and start installing MKK, KUAL and Koreader. I tried hard reset from the button on the back of the device, then tried the factory reset but nothing helps. Is there a way to force install the 2.5.8 soft version over the current 2.5.6 (501108064) + UFH 0.3 or at least to somehow clear/wipe the device to it's initial state? After applying the Update_jailbreak_0.13.N_dx_uninstall.bin it goes successfully but as it looks the device is still jailbroken. Please give some advice to get out of this situation! Thanks! |

I suspect that between 5.3.3 and 5.3.5, this jar likely hasn't changed (much or at all), but here's the original file checksums for the reference: Code:

I can't get KUAL to run on my jailbroken Kindle 2i. It is giving me the old "not signed by a registered developer error." I know there is a way to fix this; I did something a couple years ago for a friend's Kindle 3 but I can't remember what it was.
It is on 2.5.8 and I installed the last "Kindle Services Update" found here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/G7G_Firmwar...aupdate-03.bin I set the date to the correct date. (I used launchpad to launch myts terminal and used the date command.) I put the latest version of KUAL in documents. I fake registered my Kindle using the instructions here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=365179 I installed mkk from the first post and the updated using the k2i updater in DevCerts-20250419-keystore.zip I am stuck launching Koreader with launchpad which for some reason is kind of flakey. It takes me 3 or 4 tries to run anything. |

Looks like the problem with launchpad has something to do with running myts terminal. As long as I don't start myts, I can launch koreader consistently. This is good enough, since I almost never leave koreader and there's not much else I want to launch on a device this slow anyway.
Disabling unused Koreader extensions (I don't even know what wallabag is...) and killing the kindle frameworks (launch with Shift P K) seems to help a bit with the slowness. I can live without KUAL on this device. |

Well, I'm confused. All my kindlets work now and I don't know what fixed them.
Here's what happened, as well as I can remember: I copied developer.keystore into place by hand using koreader terminal plugin, rebooted, KUAL wouldn't start. I downgraded KUAL to to the earlier 2.7.35 version, installed the update_setdate_B003_k2i, installed MKK again just for the hell of it, rebooted and KUAL still didn't work. For some reason my date was set to July 2024. I thought the update_setdate set it to Jan 2025, but whatever.... So I gave up and decided to do other things: installed the screensaver hack, python, and font hacks. After a few more reboots, KUAL 2.7.35 started working. Not only that, Kif, KindleNote, Kindleterm, and Kalc work as well. |
