Tolino Vision 6 Bootloop

I just ran a test and reinserted the old card to rule out the possibility that the issue has anything to do with the device itself. When the old card is inserted, I can enter recovery mode. With the new card, I can't. So it must be the SD card I'm using. What specifications does it need to meet for this to work? (I flashed the image using Etcher.)

Try using DMDE, it might help. There's a video here. Be careful when choosing removable media. Don't confuse it with your computer's HDD or SSD!

One possibility is that you have counterfeit µSD cards. You can check SanDisk's site fpr some information. One article is Learn About Non-Authentic, Fake, Counterfeit Sandisk Memory Cards . You can also download various tools for Windows (H2TestW, ValiDrive or HearthCardCheck and MediaTester which are Windows store apps). There are also apps for MacOS and Linux but I haven't tested any of them.

Another option, which some people writing Kobo µSD card images have found useful, is doing a full overwrite of the µSD card using the SD Card Association's SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows/Mac before writing the image. This is on the slow side side it rewrites the entire card—much like many of the test utilities.

I just have my tv6 broken in bootloop, trying to fastboot to recocery several time while not working, unfortunately, either using img from GitHub or official ones.

I believe that the SD card might already damaged… I see you many time's and seems still active after so many years. can you kindly also pm me the image. my type is 37NB…6B2.

thank you again for sharing the recovery files.

Unfortunately, my Tolino Vision 6 does not enter Recovery or Fastboot at all. The PC only makes the USB connection sound, but the device is not detected as MTP/ADB/Fastboot.

I saw your note about cloning the original internal microSD card before doing further recovery work. Could you please explain how exactly you did that?

Did you remove the original microSD from the Tolino, connect it to a PC with a card reader, and clone the whole card to a new microSD? Which program did you use for the cloning?

Also, if the original microSD is no longer readable, do you still have a full Tolino Vision 6 SD card image that you could share?

My main goal is to preserve the local data if possible.

Hi all,

My Tolino Vision 6 was working perfectly until I inserted a microSD card taken from another Tolino Vision 6 (someone else's device). It took an unusually long time to boot/load with that card inserted, so I powered it off and put my original SD card back in. Since then the device shows absolutely no signs of life — no display, no LED, no reaction to the power button, even after charging on the wall adapter for 30+ minutes.



I checked with macOS System Information while it's connected via USB cable, and it does show up as a USB device:

Vendor ID: 0x1f3a
Product ID: 0xefe8
Speed: 12 Mb/s
Power: 1.5 W (300 mA)
Serial Number: Not Provided

As far as I can tell, 0x1f3a is Allwinner Technology, and 0xefe8 corresponds to the chip's FEL/BROM recovery mode — meaning the SoC boot ROM is running but can't find a valid bootloader on internal storage. I've tried the standard recovery key combo (power + bottom page-turn button held 10–60s) with no result, which makes sense if the bootloader itself is gone.

I saw in this thread that some of you (@Waldy, @rantanplan) have recovery images (e.g. TV6_recovery_tolino_16.2.0.img) and a flashing batch script that fixed similar bootloop cases via fastboot. Since my device seems to be one step further back — stuck in raw FEL mode rather than reaching fastboot — I'm wondering:

1. Is it possible to recover from FEL mode directly (e.g. pushing a working u-boot/SPL via FEL first, then proceeding to the fastboot recovery flow)?
2. Could someone point me to the right image/files or steps for this specific situation?
