Select Page from PDF for Cover (or bad memory?)

I could have sworn at one point there was a way to get a preview of all the pages of a PDF and then select one to become the book cover in calibre. I can find no indication that my memory is actually correct though.

I assume this was a plugin which is why I'm asking here but pointers to better resources are always appreciated.

P.S. I realize I can do it a hundred different ways manually so worst case I will.

Yes, there is! The exact location of this feature depends on how user chooses to have the Edit Metadata dialog displayed. And, if this is a single or bulk task. Hope his helps:

You can also access that feature by right clicking the PDF in Book details->Formats, and selecting "Set the book cover . . ."
