New Features
- Calibre Content Server: Browse and sync books from your Calibre library directly in the app. Connect automatically via Wi-Fi discovery or enter your server address manually. Select individual books or use "Select New & Changed" to sync only what's needed. Supports multiple libraries. Shows status badges (New, Changed, Synced) for each book. Re-syncing a changed book keeps your reading position, bookmarks, and highlights.
- OPDS Catalog Browsing: Discover and download free EPUB books from OPDS catalogs. Project Gutenberg is built in. Add your own OPDS servers (including Calibre OPDS). Includes server-side search, pagination for large catalogs, and per-server filtering.
- One-Touch Bookmark: A bookmark icon on the reading screen for quick bookmarking without opening any menus. Toggle it on in Settings or Home Settings. Choose between top-left and top-right position. Includes haptic feedback and a bounce animation.
- Sort by Publication Date: New sorting option in the library when sorting by author, so you can see an author's books in the order they were published.

Improvements
- Re-importing a previously deleted book restores it instead of creating a duplicate
- iPad landscape toolbar shows separate icons for sort, filter, and collections instead of a combined menu
- Standardized sheet sizes on iPad for a more consistent experience
- Better drop cap alignment and spacing in the reader
- Duplicate authors are cleaned up automatically (e.g., same person listed as both author and co-author)
- Series index numbers display cleanly (no more "1.5000000001")
- Text sizes now scale properly with Dynamic Type for improved accessibility
- Improved VoiceOver labels and translations across all 15 supported languages
- Book descriptions with HTML formatting are now cleaned up and displayed as plain text

Fixes
- Fixed full-screen image viewer sometimes showing the wrong image when first opened
- Fixed search field not appearing in the book reader's search sheet on iOS 18
- Fixed iPad landscape not being detected correctly for book layout and bookmark positioning
- Fixed sheets scrolling back to the top when iCloud sync completes in the background
- Fixed the roadmap screen not loading on cellular networks
- Fixed swiping at the bottom margin area accidentally changing chapters
- Fixed book covers sometimes disappearing after pull-to-refresh
- Fixed reading streaks counting days with less than 1 minute of reading

Localization
- All new features fully translated across all 15 supported languages

I have now about 25 minor features that will be implemented before major version.
Those minor features are all about user experience, polishing the app, performance, etc.
- full screen cover
- edit read date
- multiple read dates
- statistic update
- reading calendar
- sync info (what is syncing)
- ...

And major version 3.0 will be all about PDF support, which is the most voted feature in roadmap, as you already know from using the app.

Couldn’t wait to test out the Calibre support. The scan shows my calibre library, but can’t connect. I have accounts set up on my calibre server, but I don’t see any way to add that. Trying to add an opds library locally errors the same way. Both tell me they can’t connect.

Same problem here, it says it can’t connect through calibre or through opds. Can’t see any way to connect with wifi.

Yes have calibre server running as in picture and also wifi

Calibre sync connects ok also visit content server in browser on calibre connects

I am lost here, what do you mean 'also wifi'? What for?
If you start the Calibre Content Server just like on the image, nothing else...
1. Do you see or not see on the phone?
2. When you connect, does it show you the Library name and number of Books

And also here I am also lost, what do you mean by 'Calibre sharing over net', I even do not know Calibre can do this? It has some default internet accessible server that you can set up to route data?

Content server set up as in picture does nor connect on iPad or iPhone, it says could not connect on to server

On calibre under preferences - sharing over the net, second tab is user account, first tab info and a couple of check boxes

Aha, but that is that content server, sharing over network, not internet (my bad: 'net' for me is internet).

I have it set up like on the image attached, no accounts, no passwords.
Maybe that is the problem, you have set up accounts and/or passwords?

Also what are those accounts and/or passwords good for? If you are running the server in local network? Surely I will add those accounts and password, because not it wont connect, as I even did not know for years there can be accounts and passwords for local network content. There goes my question: what for are different accounts?

Tested it and that is it. Without account and password it is working, with account and password obviously not as there is nothing in the app to enter those two things.
Will make an update today (username and password) and push it with a priority into the AppStore.

Calibre contains an internet server to access library from anywhere in the world, (hence the password).

Got JustRead to work with passwords off while at home.
