As someone who migrated from CalibreCompanion, this sounds a bit ominous. One reason CC failed was that someone bought the developer rights, released a series of bad versions (it doesn't make sense that they'd do that on puropse, but...?). Time to turn updates off, stash a copy of the APK?

I’m not personally worried about malicious updates. There have been no Calibre Sync updates for a year.

But Android is a moving target. My understanding is CC stopped working because of Android changes to file access permissions that CC didn’t keep up with.

I expect something like that will happen to Calibre Sync eventually, too.

Saw an iOS update this morning for CS. Version 6.7.0

Interesting.. Checking the Canadian Apple App store it indicates the transfer to new ownership but still shows BIL Studio's / Duong Thuy Pham as the developer.

Works with Cal9 library -- but fails with Cal8 and earlier library? Really should accept either, IMO. I take that back, looks like it does work with both--sorry.

No covers appear for me.

Removing and re-adding a library doesn't work? Stuck on 'Reading metadata' for many minutes then DB closed error...

After a while longer and another update, library works AND displays covers.

However, it also showed every book twice until I hit refresh.

This is a problem I had also with the previous version. I have more than one library and I get this error in all libraries on Pcloud, a small part of the covers are not downloaded, even forcing it. All covers are jpg, size less than 300 kb each. I can't find the reason why.
See screenshots attached. I have reported this issue multiple time by email, to no avail.
